The film is set in Jellystone Park, where the lovable and pic-a-nic basket-obsessed Yogi Bear (voiced by Dan Aykroyd) and his faithful sidekick Boo-Boo (voiced by Justin Timberlake) reside. The park is facing financial troubles, and the corrupt Mayor Brown (Andrew Daly) decides to sell the land to loggers to balance the city’s budget.
Ranger Smith (Tom Cavanagh) is determined to save Jellystone Park and comes up with a plan to host a Centennial celebration, hoping to attract visitors and keep the park open. However, Yogi’s antics and picnic-basket-stealing ways threaten to derail the celebration.
In the climax, Yogi inadvertently causes a citywide crisis, and the park’s future hangs in the balance. Yogi, Boo-Boo, Ranger Smith, and a documentary filmmaker named Rachel (Anna Faris) must work together to save Jellystone Park from being destroyed.
In the resolution, the characters devise a plan to save the park during the Centennial celebration. The film concludes with a mix of humor, adventure, and a reaffirmation of the importance of preserving natural spaces for future generations.
“Yogi Bear” is a family-friendly film that combines live-action and CGI elements to bring the beloved cartoon characters to the big screen. The movie aims to capture the spirit of the original animated series while introducing Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo to a new generation of audiences.
