The story is set in a dark and Gothic world where vampires and werewolves, known as Lycans, have been locked in a bitter feud for centuries. Selene, a vampire Death Dealer, is dedicated to hunting down and killing Lycans after witnessing her family’s murder by werewolves as a child.
As Selene tracks a group of Lycans, she becomes embroiled in a conspiracy involving a human named Michael Corvin (played by Scott Speedman), who is unknowingly caught in the middle of the vampire-werewolf conflict. Selene discovers that the Lycans are searching for Michael due to his unique bloodline, which holds the key to unlocking untold power.
As the plot unfolds, Selene’s loyalty to the vampire coven is tested when she begins to suspect that the vampire elder Viktor (played by Bill Nighy) may have ulterior motives. She forms an uneasy alliance with Michael, who has become a target for both vampires and Lycans, and together they uncover the truth behind the centuries-old war and the secret of Michael’s bloodline.
In the climax of the film, Selene and Michael confront Viktor and the Lycan leader, Lucian (played by Michael Sheen), in a final showdown at the vampire coven’s stronghold. Betrayals are revealed, alliances are shattered, and secrets are exposed as Selene and Michael fight for their lives against overwhelming odds.
Ultimately, Selene manages to defeat Viktor and Lucian, but not without sacrifice. Michael is mortally wounded in the battle but is saved when Selene bites him, turning him into a vampire-werewolf hybrid known as a “Corvinus” or “Hybrid.” Together, they emerge victorious, ending the centuries-old war between vampires and Lycans.
The film ends with Selene and Michael fleeing the vampire coven, setting out on their own journey to explore their newfound powers and forge their own destiny in a world torn apart by violence and betrayal.
