In the final act of “The Suicide Squad,” the antiheroes known as Task Force X (the Suicide Squad) infiltrate the island of Corto Maltese to destroy the secret Project Starfish. The squad, led by Colonel Rick Flag (played by Joel Kinnaman) and including characters like Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), Peacemaker (John Cena), Polka-Dot Man (David Dastmalchian), and others, faces off against the monstrous Starro the Conqueror.
As they confront Starro, a giant extraterrestrial starfish with mind-controlling capabilities, the situation becomes intense. Unfortunately, Colonel Rick Flag dies in the battle, sacrificing himself to ensure the mission’s success.
Bloodsport, who initially struggled with leadership responsibilities, steps up to lead the squad in the final showdown. Harley Quinn has her own intense and action-packed sequence within Starro, using a javelin to pierce the starfish’s eye.
Ratcatcher 2 plays a crucial role in the resolution by summoning a horde of rats to help in the fight. Ultimately, the Suicide Squad manages to defeat Starro, with the creature crashing into the ocean.
In the aftermath, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), who orchestrated the mission, tries to cover up the U.S. government’s involvement in Project Starfish and Task Force X. However, Bloodsport, Peacemaker, and Ratcatcher 2 decide to expose the truth, ensuring that the public learns about the government’s dangerous experiments.
The movie ends with the surviving members of the Suicide Squad, including Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, and others, leaving Corto Maltese. The film is known for its irreverent humor, unexpected deaths, and unique take on the superhero genre.
