The film introduces Bob Ho (played by Jackie Chan), a Chinese intelligence agent who is dating his neighbor and single mother, Gillian (played by Amber Valletta). Bob wants to retire from the spy business to settle down and start a family with Gillian, but he hasn’t revealed his true profession to her yet.
Gillian’s children, Farren (played by Madeline Carroll), Ian (played by Will Shadley), and Nora (played by Alina Foley), are initially skeptical of Bob and don’t warm up to him easily. They see him as the boring neighbor and don’t understand why their mom is dating him.
When Gillian is called away on a family emergency, Bob volunteers to babysit her kids to prove that he can handle family life. However, his plans for a peaceful weekend are disrupted when one of his former adversaries, Russian terrorist Anton Poldark (played by Magnus Scheving), escapes from prison and sets out to exact revenge on Bob.
As Bob tries to keep the kids entertained and out of trouble, he also has to deal with Anton’s henchmen, who are determined to capture him. Bob uses his spy skills and resourcefulness to protect the children and outsmart the villains, leading to a series of hilarious and action-packed escapades.
Despite initial misgivings, the kids start to bond with Bob as they embark on various adventures together. They learn to appreciate his unique skills and admire his bravery in the face of danger.
In the climax of the film, Bob and the kids team up to confront Anton and his henchmen in a final showdown. With the help of Gillian, who returns home just in time, they manage to defeat the villains and save the day.
In the end, Bob earns the respect and affection of Gillian’s children, who now see him as a hero and a valuable member of their family. Bob also realizes that he wants to continue being a part of their lives and proposes to Gillian, cementing their relationship.
