The film revolves around Jerry Welbach (played by Brad Pitt), a low-level mob errand boy who is given a final assignment by his boss, Margolese (played by Bob Balaban). Jerry’s task is to travel to Mexico and retrieve a valuable antique pistol known as “The Mexican,” which is believed to be cursed.
