The Lobster

In the climax of the movie, David (Colin Farrell), the central character, has been staying at the Hotel where single people are given 45 days to find a romantic partner. If they fail, they are transformed into an animal of their choosing. David chooses a lobster.

In the resolution, David eventually escapes the Hotel and joins a group of loners living in the woods. The loners have a strict anti-romance policy and punish any form of romantic or sexual interaction. However, David develops a romantic relationship with a short-sighted woman (Rachel Weisz), who shares his feelings.

As their relationship grows, the loners discover the couple’s secret. The loners, led by their leader (Léa Seydoux), decide to blind the short-sighted woman to prevent any further romantic connections. David is then forced to blind himself to show his commitment to her.

In the final scenes, David and the woman, now both blind, live together in the woods. They navigate their new reality with a deep sense of connection, emphasizing the lengths individuals go to find companionship and love, even in a society that suppresses such emotions.

In summary, “The Lobster” concludes with David and his partner sacrificing their sight to be together, challenging the rules and restrictions imposed by the dystopian society. The film explores themes of love, conformity, and the lengths people go to find connection in a world with rigid societal norms.
