The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes

After Coriolanus manipulates the 10th Hunger Games to ensure Lucy Gray’s victory, he faces consequences as he is demoted to a Peacekeeper and sent to District 12, where he reunites with Lucy Gray. Their relationship turns complicated when Sejanus Plinth, having become a Peacekeeper as well, collaborates with local rebel Spruce. Coriolanus, seeking favor with the Capitol, records Sejanus discussing the rebels, resulting in Sejanus and Spruce being hanged for treason. In a violent turn of events, Coriolanus and Lucy Gray are involved in the deaths of Mayfair and Billy Taupe. When they discover Spruce’s hidden guns, Coriolanus sees an opportunity to clear his name. However, Lucy Gray, learning of Coriolanus’s hidden killings, escapes into the forest. In a delirious state, Coriolanus fires into the woods, possibly hitting Lucy Gray. Returning to District 12, he disposes of the guns, only to be summoned back to the Capitol by Dr. Volumnia Gaul for further education. The film concludes with Coriolanus poisoning Casca Highbottom, who reveals that Coriolanus’s father stole the idea for the Hunger Games, leaving Lucy Gray’s fate uncertain.
