As the film reaches its intense climax, despair looms large. Chris faces the horror of her daughter Angela being blinded by the demon, but Victor, fueled by the memory of his late wife, envelops Angela in a scarf and passionately implores her to stay. The emotional connection miraculously revives Angela, but simultaneously, Tony succumbs to the demonic trap set for both girls. The demon presents a sinister ultimatum to the parents, demanding they choose one girl to live while the other perishes. Though Victor and Miranda resist, Tony crumbles under the pressure, choosing Katherine. In a heart-wrenching turn, the demon’s influence either tricks them or succumbs to Victor’s overpowering love, leading both girls to seemingly die in their parents’ arms. Angela, however, miraculously awakens, leaving Katherine’s family devastated, and Victor rediscovering his faith after years of disbelief. The film concludes on a bittersweet note, but the story continues as Chris, recovering from her own demonic ordeal, receives a surprise visitor in Regan (Linda Blair), who emerges from hiding to comfort her mother after years of possession-induced celebrity. Their reunion hints at a long-anticipated connection, suggesting that Regan, like Chris, sensed a cosmic shift, compelling her to return to her family at last.
