The Debt

The movie begins in 1965, where we meet Rachel Singer, David Peretz, and Stefan Gold, three young Mossad agents who are assigned to capture Dieter Vogel, a former Nazi doctor responsible for heinous experiments during World War II. Their mission is to bring Vogel to Israel to stand trial for his crimes.

The agents successfully locate Vogel in East Berlin and plan to abduct him and bring him back to Israel. However, their mission goes awry, and they are forced to improvise to escape with Vogel. In the process, they make a split-second decision that has long-lasting consequences and shapes the rest of their lives.

Fast forward to 1997, where Rachel, David, and Stefan are now retired and living with the guilt of their past actions. A shocking revelation threatens to unravel the truth behind their mission and expose secrets that they have kept buried for decades.

As the truth comes to light, Rachel is forced to confront her past and come to terms with the choices she made. The film delves into themes of morality, loyalty, and the price of deception, as the characters grapple with the consequences of their actions and the burden of their shared secret.
