The film follows the story of Annie Porter (played by Sandra Bullock), who is now in a relationship with Alex Shaw (played by Jason Patric), a Los Angeles police officer. Annie is planning to go on a Caribbean cruise with Alex aboard the luxury cruise ship Seabourn Legend.
