The film begins with the return of the alien DNA hybrid species, known as Sil, which had been created in the first film. After a mission to Mars, astronaut Patrick Ross (played by Justin Lazard) and his crew bring back a sample of Martian soil containing dormant alien DNA.
Back on Earth, the DNA begins to merge with Patrick’s own genetic makeup, transforming him into a new breed of alien-human hybrid with superhuman abilities. As Patrick struggles to control his newfound powers and resist the alien impulses within him, he becomes increasingly dangerous and unpredictable.
Meanwhile, Dr. Laura Baker (played by Marg Helgenberger) and her team of scientists from the first film are called upon once again to deal with the new alien threat.
