The film begins with Chon Wang (played by Jackie Chan), a member of the Chinese Imperial Guard, traveling to the United States to rescue Princess Pei Pei (played by Lucy Liu), who has been kidnapped and taken to America by rebels. Chon is determined to bring her back to China and restore honor to his family.
Upon arriving in Nevada, Chon encounters Roy O’Bannon (played by Owen Wilson), a charming but incompetent outlaw who is on the run from the law. After a series of misadventures, Chon and Roy reluctantly team up to track down the kidnappers and rescue Princess Pei Pei.
As they journey across the American West, Chon and Roy encounter a variety of colorful characters and obstacles, including rival gangs, Native American tribes, and corrupt lawmen. Along the way, they form an unlikely friendship and learn to trust and rely on each other.
As they get closer to their goal, Chon and Roy discover that the kidnapping plot is part of a larger conspiracy involving a corrupt official named Lo Fong (played by Roger Yuan), who plans to ransom Princess Pei Pei for a large sum of money.
In a climactic showdown, Chon and Roy infiltrate Lo Fong’s stronghold and engage in a fierce battle with his henchmen. With their unique skills and teamwork, they manage to defeat the villains and rescue Princess Pei Pei.
In the end, Chon returns to China with Princess Pei Pei, while Roy decides to stay in America and start a new life. Despite their different backgrounds and personalities, Chon and Roy have formed a strong bond and forged a lasting friendship that transcends cultural differences.
