The film centers on two best friends, Gordie Boggs (played by David Arquette) and Sean Dawkins (played by Scott Caan), who are die-hard fans of professional wrestling and idolize the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) wrestler Jimmy King (played by Oliver Platt).
