The story follows Charley Waite (played by Kevin Costner) and Boss Spearman (played by Robert Duvall), two free-range cattle herders who roam the open plains with their crew: Mose (played by Abraham Benrubi) and Button (played by Diego Luna). They live a nomadic lifestyle, driving their cattle from one grazing area to another.
