Old Fashioned

Clay Walsh (played by Rik Swartzwelder), a former frat boy turned antique shop owner, leads a solitary and conservative life in a small town. Amber Hewson (played by Elizabeth Roberts), a free-spirited and independent young woman, moves into the apartment above Clay’s antique shop. She is escaping a troubled past and trying to start anew.

Clay and Amber develop an unconventional friendship despite their differing worldviews. Amber, who is used to casual and modern dating, becomes intrigued by Clay’s commitment to traditional values, including his decision to avoid physical contact until marriage.

As their relationship deepens, Clay and Amber navigate the challenges of their conflicting lifestyles. Clay’s strict adherence to his principles causes tension, and Amber struggles with the unfamiliar concept of courtship. They eventually realize that they need to find a middle ground to make their relationship work.

In the end, Clay and Amber’s love story takes a positive turn. They decide to commit to each other and embrace a more balanced approach to their relationship. The film concludes with a sense of hope and the possibility of a lasting connection built on shared values.

“Old Fashioned” received mixed reviews, with praise for its exploration of traditional values and criticism for its somewhat formulaic approach. The film caters to audiences interested in faith-based and wholesome romantic stories that emphasize moral values and a more traditional view of love and relationships.
