Maggie

In the climax of the movie, a teenage girl named Maggie (Abigail Breslin) has been infected by a virus that turns people into zombies. Her father, Wade Vogel (Arnold Schwarzenegger), has been taking care of her despite the inevitable progression of the virus.

In the resolution, as Maggie’s condition worsens, the authorities enforce a mandatory quarantine for those infected. Wade struggles with the difficult decision of whether to let Maggie go peacefully or to abide by the quarantine regulations.

In a poignant and emotional scene, Wade ultimately chooses to release Maggie into the wilderness, where she is free to roam as a zombie. The film ends with Wade returning to his house, grappling with the loss of his daughter and the heartbreaking choices he had to make.

“Maggie” is not a typical zombie horror film but rather a character-driven drama that explores the emotional toll of a zombie apocalypse on a father-daughter relationship. The ending underscores the human side of the genre, focusing on the difficult decisions and sacrifices individuals must make in the face of a devastating epidemic.
