Lion

“Lion” is a biographical drama film directed by Garth Davis, based on the true story of Saroo Brierley. The film follows Saroo (played by Dev Patel), who, as a young boy, gets separated from his family in India and ends up thousands of miles away in Calcutta. He is eventually adopted by an Australian couple, the Brierleys.

As Saroo grows older, he becomes haunted by memories of his childhood and his lost family. He becomes determined to find his birth family using the limited information he has, mainly from his early childhood experiences and Google Earth.

In the climax of the film, Saroo, now a young man, locates his hometown and reunites with his birth mother and sister. The emotional reunion is a powerful moment in the movie, as Saroo is finally able to reconnect with his biological family after years of separation.

The film ends with a sense of closure as Saroo reunites with his Australian adoptive parents, expressing gratitude for the life they provided him. The concluding scenes depict Saroo’s two families coexisting in his life, highlighting the complexity of identity and the enduring bonds that connect him to both his Australian and Indian roots.

In summary, “Lion” concludes with Saroo finding his birth family, achieving a long-sought reunion, and acknowledging the profound impact both of his families have had on his life. The film explores themes of identity, love, and the enduring connections that transcend geographical and cultural boundaries.
