Let’s Be Cops

Ryan O’Malley (Jake Johnson) and Justin Miller (Damon Wayans Jr.) are two best friends in Los Angeles struggling with unfulfilling lives. After attending a costume party dressed as police officers, they discover the attention and respect the uniforms bring. Inspired, they decide to continue the charade in their daily lives.

As Ryan and Justin immerse themselves in their fake roles, they find the impersonation leading them into various comedic and dangerous situations. They intervene in minor crimes and even start solving cases, unknowingly getting involved with real criminals.

Things take a more serious turn when they cross paths with a ruthless mobster named Mossi Kasic (James D’Arcy), who mistakes them for actual undercover officers. Ryan and Justin become entangled in a criminal conspiracy involving corrupt cops and dangerous criminals.

Amid the chaos, Justin begins to have second thoughts about their charade, realizing the potential consequences. Ryan, on the other hand, revels in the excitement and the newfound sense of purpose.

The climax involves a confrontation between Ryan, Justin, Mossi, and the corrupt cops. In the end, the truth about Ryan and Justin being impostors is revealed, leading to a chaotic yet humorous resolution.

The film concludes with Ryan and Justin returning to their normal lives, having experienced both the thrill and danger of pretending to be cops. The experience helps them reevaluate their priorities and take steps toward more meaningful lives.

“Let’s Be Cops” is known for its comedic elements, blending humor with moments of action and a lighthearted exploration of friendship and personal growth. While the film received mixed reviews, its premise and comedic performances contributed to its entertainment value.
