Joy Ride

The protagonists, Lewis Thomas (played by Paul Walker) and Fuller Thomas (played by Steve Zahn), are estranged brothers who reunite for a road trip across the American Southwest. Along the way, they plan to pick up Fuller’s friend Venna Wilcox (played by Leelee Sobieski), whom Lewis has a crush on.

During their journey, Fuller convinces Lewis to play a prank on a truck driver using a CB radio. Pretending to be a woman named Candy Cane, they engage in a flirtatious conversation with the trucker, who identifies himself as “Rusty Nail.” However, the prank takes a dark turn when Rusty Nail discovers their deception and seeks revenge.

As they continue their journey, Lewis and Fuller find themselves pursued by Rusty Nail, who uses his truck to terrorize and stalk them across the desert highways. The brothers realize that they have unwittingly angered a dangerous and unhinged individual, and they must find a way to outsmart him and escape with their lives.

Their situation becomes increasingly perilous as Rusty Nail escalates his attacks, putting their lives in grave danger. Lewis, Fuller, and Venna are forced to confront their fears and work together to survive the deadly game of cat and mouse that unfolds on the open road.

In a tense and suspenseful climax, the brothers confront Rusty Nail in a final showdown at a remote motel. They must use all of their wits and resourcefulness to outmaneuver their relentless pursuer and bring an end to the nightmare once and for all.

In the end, Lewis, Fuller, and Venna emerge victorious, but not without scars. They realize the true cost of their reckless actions and the importance of sticking together in the face of adversity. The experience strengthens their bond as siblings and leaves them with a newfound appreciation for life and the dangers that lurk on the open road.
