John Wick

The movie opens with John Wick (Keanu Reeves) mourning the recent death of his wife, Helen. As a final gift, she arranged for him to receive a puppy named Daisy. While filling up his car at a gas station, he encounters a group of Russian gang members led by Iosef Tarasov (Alfie Allen). Iosef expresses interest in John’s vintage car and, when rebuffed, decides to steal it.

That night, Iosef and his accomplices break into John’s house, steal his car, and brutally attack him. They also kill Daisy in the process. Unbeknownst to Iosef, John Wick is not an ordinary man – he is a legendary hitman formerly known as “Baba Yaga” or “The Boogeyman.”

Driven by grief and anger, John comes out of retirement to seek revenge. He goes after Iosef and the Russian mob, taking down numerous adversaries with lethal efficiency. His quest for vengeance brings him into conflict with Viggo Tarasov (Michael Nyqvist), a powerful crime lord and Iosef’s father.

As John wreaks havoc, Viggo realizes the extent of the danger his son is in. John faces waves of skilled assassins, including Marcus (Willem Dafoe), a fellow hitman with a complex relationship with John. Despite facing considerable odds, John systematically eliminates his targets.

The film culminates in a confrontation at a nightclub, where John takes down Viggo and his remaining henchmen. In the end, John spares Viggo’s life but warns him that he will be coming for him if he doesn’t leave the criminal life behind. The film closes with John reclaiming his car and walking away, leaving the door open for future adventures.

“John Wick” was praised for its stylish action sequences, choreography, and Keanu Reeves’s performance. It became a surprise hit and spawned a successful film franchise with multiple sequels.
