In “School’s Out,” underage teenagers Tara (Mia McKenna-Bruce), Skye (Lara Peake), and Em (Enva Lewis) find themselves on the brink of adulthood. As Em prepares for college, Tara and Skye face uncertainty about their futures. Before their exam results are out, the trio embarks on a journey to the Greek Island of Crete, hoping for fun, clubbing, and romance.
Tara, a virgin, feels pressured by her friends to hook up, especially Skye, who constantly reminds her of her sexual status. On the first day, Tara meets Badger (Shaun Thomas), who shows interest in her. They join Badger’s group for partying, where Tara and Badger connect. However, Skye seems to push Tara towards Paddy (Samuel Bottomley), Badger’s friend.
During a clubbing adventure, Tara is disheartened when Badger participates in a sexual game. She retreats to the beach with Paddy, where they engage in consensual sex. However, Tara’s feelings afterward are mixed, and she struggles to find happiness.
Tara’s journey takes a dark turn when Paddy attempts to initiate sex again the following night. Despite Tara’s protests, Paddy rapes her. Tara later confides in Em about the assault.
Meanwhile, Tara grapples with her exam results, feeling isolated as both Em and Skye pass while she fails. The film ends with Tara confronting the aftermath of her traumatic experience and grappling with her sense of self.
