Hairspray

In the climax of the film, Tracy Turnblad (played by Nikki Blonsky) and her friends, along with her mother, Edna Turnblad (played by John Travolta), face off against Velma Von Tussle (played by Michelle Pfeiffer) and the forces of segregation at the Miss Teenage Hairspray pageant.

Throughout the movie, Tracy, a plucky and determined teenager, dreams of dancing on “The Corny Collins Show” and fighting for integration and racial equality in 1960s Baltimore. With the help of her friends, she becomes a leading figure in the civil rights movement, challenging the status quo and inspiring others to do the same.

In the final moments of the film, Tracy and her friends stage a protest during the Miss Teenage Hairspray pageant, demanding that African American dancers be allowed to compete on the show. Despite facing resistance and hostility from Velma and the pageant officials, Tracy’s message of inclusivity and acceptance resonates with the audience, and they join her in her protest.

The film ends with Tracy being crowned the winner of the pageant and achieving her dream of dancing on “The Corny Collins Show.” She celebrates her victory with her friends and family, including her supportive parents, Edna and Wilbur (played by Christopher Walken), who couldn’t be prouder of her.

Through its upbeat musical numbers and themes of tolerance and empowerment, “Hairspray” delivers a message of hope and unity, leaving viewers with a sense of joy and optimism as the credits roll.
