At the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the team undergoes significant changes. Gamora is saved from Adam’s wrath due to a planetary explosion, with Adam Warlock abandoning the Guardians’ ship to try to save his mother. The final clash sees the Knowhere station, piloted by Kraglin and Cosmo, flying in to fight against the High Evolutionary’s forces. The movie concludes with Star-Lord giving up his role as the leader of the Guardians and having Rocket replace him, returning to Earth to track down his grandfather. Gamora goes back to the Ravagers, and Mantis sets off to discover more about herself. The film ends with the original team split up, each member embarking on their own path, setting up a new era for the Guardians
