Good Grief

In London, Marc immerses himself in a festive Christmas party surrounded by friends, including his longtime husband, Oliver. However, the joyous occasion takes a tragic turn when Oliver leaves early for a book signing in Paris and tragically dies in a car accident moments later.

In the ensuing year, Marc grapples with his grief, supported by his closest friends Sophie and Thomas. Yet, his mourning takes a tumultuous turn when he uncovers a note from Oliver confessing to an affair and the revelation of a secret Parisian apartment.

Seeking closure, Marc impulsively decides to journey to Paris, accompanied by Sophie and Thomas, under the guise of a carefree trip. As they navigate the city’s charms, Marc struggles to reconcile his anger over Oliver’s secrets with the weight of his loss, questioning his ability to properly mourn.

Amidst the picturesque backdrop of Paris, Marc finds solace in the company of Theo, a French acquaintance. Together, they explore the poignant symbolism of art and loss, culminating in a tender moment at the Musée de l’Orangerie.

However, their interlude is interrupted by Thomas’s concern, prompting Marc to confront the truth about their trip and Oliver’s unexpected connection to Luca, a Berlin artist. Over dinner, Sophie encourages honesty, catalyzing a candid exchange of emotions among the friends.

Back in London, Marc embarks on a journey of self-discovery, rediscovering his passion for painting and embracing a newfound sense of acceptance. As Christmas approaches once more, the bonds between friends deepen, symbolized by Sophie’s engagement and Thomas’s newfound love.

In a poignant conclusion, Marc’s artwork, a testament to his journey of healing, is showcased in a gallery, signaling his arrival at a place of peace and closure.
