The story follows Reggie (voiced by Owen Wilson), a domesticated turkey who is spared from being the Thanksgiving dinner due to his presidential pardon. Reggie lives a comfortable life, but his world is turned upside down when he is recruited by another turkey named Jake (voiced by Woody Harrelson).
