Devil’s Due

The story begins with the McCall couple enjoying their honeymoon and exploring the local culture. During a night out, they encounter a mysterious group of locals who drug Samantha. The couple wakes up with no memory of the events that transpired that night.

Upon returning home, Samantha discovers that she is pregnant. The couple decides to document the pregnancy through video recordings. However, as the pregnancy progresses, strange and disturbing events occur, leading them to suspect that something supernatural is happening.

The found-footage style adds to the tension as the couple’s relationship is tested by increasingly bizarre and eerie occurrences. Samantha’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, and the couple seeks help from various sources, including doctors and priests.

In the climax, the true nature of Samantha’s pregnancy is revealed. The film takes a dark turn, and the events escalate into a horrifying conclusion. The resolution involves a confrontation with the mysterious forces behind Samantha’s pregnancy.

“Devil’s Due” received generally negative reviews from critics, with criticism directed at its reliance on found-footage tropes and the predictable nature of its horror elements. The film aimed to capitalize on the supernatural pregnancy horror subgenre, but it faced challenges in standing out among similar films in the genre.
