In the year 2019, a viral outbreak has turned the majority of the human population into vampires. The remaining humans are hunted and harvested for their blood, which has become a scarce and valuable resource. The vampire society is on the brink of collapse due to the dwindling blood supply.
Edward Dalton, a vampire hematologist, is tasked with finding a blood substitute that can sustain the vampire population. Despite his reluctance to harm humans, Edward works for Bromley Marks Corporation, a powerful pharmaceutical company that profits from the blood trade.
While conducting research, Edward encounters a group of human survivors led by Lionel “Elvis” Cormac. They offer Edward a potential solution to the blood shortage: finding a cure for vampirism. Edward reluctantly agrees to help them and joins forces with Elvis and his sister, Audrey, to locate a rumored human sanctuary.
As Edward delves deeper into his research, he discovers that the key to curing vampirism lies in the blood of a human who was infected but did not fully turn into a vampire. He learns that Audrey is one such individual and realizes that her blood could hold the cure.
Meanwhile, Edward’s boss, Charles Bromley, is revealed to be manipulating the blood supply to maintain control over the vampire population. He sees the potential cure as a threat to his power and orders Edward’s capture.
Edward and Audrey manage to evade capture and locate the human sanctuary. With the help of the human resistance, they develop a cure for vampirism using Audrey’s blood. However, they face a race against time as Bromley’s forces close in on them.
In a final confrontation, Edward injects himself with the cure and transforms back into a human. He leads the human resistance in a successful uprising against the vampire overlords, overthrowing their oppressive regime.
With the cure for vampirism now widely available, the surviving vampires have the option to return to their human state. The film ends with Edward and Audrey standing together, hopeful for a brighter future where humans and vampires can coexist peacefully.
