After helping Jim reach the church and reluctantly ending Jack’s suffering, Richie becomes the winner of the hunt. Alongside Kelly, they aim to escape the town with their car prize, but their plans are thwarted by the police chief. Held at gunpoint, Richie is forced into the cornfield, led to the burial site of past victors. Preventing his own demise, Richie turns the tables on the chief. However, a new threat emerges as a vengeful farmer, tied to the past victors’ cross, attacks and buries Richie alive. The post-credits scene depicts the farmer returning to tie Richie to the cross with a pumpkin head. A year later, Richie transforms into Sawtooth Jack, seeking revenge. His father intervenes, killing the farmer, and in the final scene, Sawtooth Jack/Richie faces his father’s encouragement to “burn it all down” as he prepares to unleash revenge on the townsfolk.
