The film is set in a world populated by anthropomorphic cars, where the main character, Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson), is a cocky and ambitious rookie race car. Lightning dreams of winning the coveted Piston Cup championship and becoming the greatest race car in the world.

With the support of his friends from Radiator Springs, Lightning overcomes various obstacles and emerges victorious in the race.

The film ends with Lightning embracing his newfound appreciation for friendship and community, as he decides to split his prize money with the residents of Radiator Springs and make significant contributions to the town’s restoration efforts.
