The film picks up where the first movie, “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,” left off. Austin Powers, the British secret agent and swinging 1960s playboy, learns that his arch-nemesis, Dr. Evil, has stolen his “mojo,” the source of his sexual prowess. Dr. Evil plans to use the mojo to power a time machine called “The Time Machine” and travel back to the 1960s to steal Powers’ mojo when he was frozen.
In response, Austin travels back in time to 1969 using his own time machine, accompanied by Felicity Shagwell, a CIA agent. They team up to stop Dr. Evil’s plans and recover Austin’s mojo. Along the way, they encounter various challenges and adversaries, including Mini-Me, a miniature clone of Dr. Evil, and Fat Bastard, a Scottish henchman.
Dr. Evil successfully retrieves Austin’s mojo and prepares to use it to power a laser on the moon, intending to destroy major cities on Earth. Austin and Felicity infiltrate Dr. Evil’s moon base, where they confront him and engage in a final showdown.
During the climactic battle, Austin manages to reclaim his mojo, regaining his confidence and powers. With the help of Felicity and other allies, he defeats Dr. Evil and destroys the laser, saving the world once again.
In the end, Austin and Felicity return to the present day and celebrate their victory. The film concludes with a musical performance by Dr. Evil and Mini-Me.
“Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me” is known for its over-the-top humor, pop culture references, and memorable characters. It was a commercial success, grossing over $312 million worldwide, and helped solidify Mike Myers’ status as a comedy icon.
