Annie

The story revolves around Annie Bennett (Quvenzhané Wallis), a spunky and optimistic orphan living in foster care with other girls under the care of the strict and alcoholic Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). Will’s political advisors suggest that he take Annie under his wing for publicity, hoping it will boost his popularity in the polls. Initially, the arrangement is purely for political gain, but over time, Annie’s infectious positivity begins to influence Will, and he starts to genuinely care for her.

In the climax, as Will’s political campaign reaches a critical point, Annie discovers the true circumstances behind her placement with Will. She learns that her parents left her a locket with a note, hoping to reunite with her one day. Annie’s story becomes a public revelation, and Will faces a moral dilemma about revealing it for political gain.

The film concludes with Annie’s positive influence inspiring change in those around her. Miss Hannigan is given a second chance, and Annie finds a loving home with Will Stacks. The characters come together in a heartwarming finale, emphasizing the importance of love, family, and the impact one person can have on others.

“Annie” received mixed reviews from critics but was praised for its modern take on the classic story and the performances of the cast, particularly Quvenzhané Wallis as Annie. The film blends contemporary elements with the timeless themes of hope and optimism from the original musical.
