An American Werewolf in Paris

The film follows the story of Andy McDermott (played by Tom Everett Scott), a young American tourist traveling through Europe with his friends Chris (played by Phil Buckman) and Brad (played by Vince Vieluf). While in Paris, the trio encounters a group of thrill-seeking daredevils who invite them to join them for a night of extreme sports atop the Eiffel Tower.

During their escapade, Andy catches a glimpse of a beautiful and mysterious woman named Séraphine (played by Julie Delpy), who is attempting to commit suicide by bungee jumping from the tower. Andy impulsively intervenes and saves Séraphine’s life, but in doing so, he unwittingly becomes entangled in a supernatural curse.

As Andy and Séraphine grow closer, she reveals to him that she is a werewolf and that her father, Claude (played by Pierre Cosso), is the leader of a secret society of lycanthropes in Paris. Séraphine explains that she is bound by a curse that forces her to transform into a werewolf during the full moon, and she is desperate to find a cure before she loses control and harms others.

Despite the dangers and warnings, Andy becomes infatuated with Séraphine and is determined to help her break the curse. Alongside his friends, Andy embarks on a perilous journey through the streets of Paris, battling werewolves, dodging the authorities, and unraveling the mystery behind the curse.

As the full moon approaches, Andy and Séraphine race against time to find a cure and save her from her impending transformation. Along the way, they encounter numerous obstacles and adversaries, including Séraphine’s jealous ex-boyfriend, Claude, who seeks to maintain his dominance over the werewolf pack.

In a climactic showdown, Andy confronts Claude and his pack in a final battle for Séraphine’s freedom. With the help of his friends and Séraphine’s courage, Andy manages to defeat Claude and break the curse, allowing Séraphine to live a normal life free from the burden of her lycanthropy.

In the end, Andy and Séraphine bid farewell to Paris and embark on a new journey together, leaving behind the supernatural horrors of the city and embracing their newfound love and freedom.

“An American Werewolf in Paris” is praised for its blend of horror, comedy, and romance, as well as its inventive special effects and atmospheric setting in the streets of Paris. While it may not have achieved the same cult status as its predecessor, “An American Werewolf in London,” it remains a beloved entry in the werewolf genre and a fun, entertaining film for fans of horror and comedy alike.
