The film follows the story of two convicts, Piper (played by Laurence Fishburne) and Dodge (played by Stephen Baldwin), who are on the run after escaping from a Georgia prison. Piper is a savvy and street-smart con artist, while Dodge is a computer hacker who was wrongly convicted of a crime he didn’t commit.
Piper and Dodge are forced to team up when they discover that they have been framed for the murder of two FBI agents. They find themselves pursued by both law enforcement and a group of ruthless criminals who are determined to silence them and recover a cache of stolen computer disks that hold incriminating evidence.
As they evade capture and navigate the dangerous streets of Atlanta, Piper and Dodge form an unlikely bond and become determined to clear their names and expose the true culprits behind the murders. Along the way, they encounter a series of obstacles and challenges, including shootouts, car chases, and double crosses.
Their quest for justice leads them to uncover a conspiracy involving corrupt law enforcement officials and drug traffickers who will stop at nothing to protect their interests. Piper and Dodge must use all of their wits and skills to outsmart their adversaries and stay one step ahead of them.
In the climax of the film, Piper and Dodge confront the mastermind behind the conspiracy, a corrupt DEA agent named McNally (played by Will Patton). With the help of their friend and ally, a journalist named Cora (played by Salma Hayek), they expose McNally’s crimes and bring him to justice.
In the end, Piper and Dodge are vindicated and cleared of all charges. They go their separate ways, but their friendship remains strong, and they part as equals and true partners in crime-fighting.
