End of Days

The film begins with a prologue set in 1979, where a newborn girl named Christine York is born at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, fulfilling a prophecy that she is destined to become the mother of Satan’s child.

Fast forward to 1999, Jericho Cane (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a former police officer who is now working as a security guard. Traumatized by the deaths of his wife and daughter, Jericho has lost his faith in God and struggles with alcoholism.

Meanwhile, a group of priests led by Father Kovak (played by Rod Steiger) are aware of the prophecy surrounding Christine and believe that the Devil is searching for her. They hire Jericho to protect Christine (played by Robin Tunney), who is unaware of her role in the impending apocalypse.

As Jericho begins to protect Christine, he encounters a series of increasingly bizarre and terrifying events. He learns that Satan (played by Gabriel Byrne) has possessed a Wall Street banker named Thomas Aquinas and is using him to manipulate events and people to ensure Christine’s cooperation.

Jericho and Christine are pursued by Satan’s minions, including a group of devil-worshipping cultists known as “The Apostles of the Seventh Dawn.” Despite their best efforts to evade capture, they are eventually cornered by the cultists and taken to a church where a ritual to impregnate Christine is to take place.

In a climactic showdown, Jericho confronts Satan and engages in a fierce battle to prevent him from impregnating Christine. With the help of Father Kovak and his remaining allies, Jericho manages to defeat Satan and save Christine from her fate.

However, in the film’s final moments, it is revealed that Jericho was mortally wounded in the battle and sacrificed himself to stop Satan’s plans. As he lies dying in Christine’s arms, Jericho finally finds redemption and peace, knowing that he has saved the world from destruction.

“End of Days” is a dark and intense thriller that explores themes of faith, redemption, and the battle between good and evil. Through its action-packed sequences, supernatural elements, and thought-provoking story, the film offers a gripping and entertaining ride that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats until the very end.
