The film revolves around a group of people in Los Angeles who witness the arrival of extraterrestrial beings intent on harvesting humans. The aliens deploy blue light beams that attract people, effectively capturing them. The main characters, Terry (Donald Faison), Jarrod (Eric Balfour), Elaine (Scottie Thompson), and Candice (Brittany Daniel), find themselves in a fight for survival as they attempt to evade the aliens and escape the city.

In the climax, the survivors make a desperate attempt to flee Los Angeles by commandeering a helicopter. However, their plan is thwarted when one of the characters, Terry, is captured by the aliens after being lured by the blue light. Jarrod, determined to save his friend, sacrifices himself by allowing the aliens to capture him as well, hoping to rescue Terry from their clutches.

As the plot unfolds, it becomes clear that the aliens are using humans to power their machines and replenish their resources. The survivors witness the horrifying transformation of captured humans into alien drones, further emphasizing the dire situation they face.

In the resolution, Elaine and Candice manage to escape Los Angeles in the helicopter, leaving behind their friends who have been captured by the aliens. The film ends on a bleak note as the survivors realize the extent of the alien invasion and the slim chances of survival for humanity.

“Skyline” is known for its stunning visual effects and intense action sequences. While the plot may follow some familiar science fiction tropes, the film’s suspenseful atmosphere and sense of impending doom keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The ambiguous ending leaves room for interpretation and speculation, adding to the film’s intrigue and staying power in the science fiction genre.
