Tobey Marshall is a skilled mechanic and street racer who owns a small garage with his friends in Mount Kisco, New York. Struggling with financial difficulties, Tobey reluctantly partners with former rival Dino Brewster (played by Dominic Cooper) to complete a rare and valuable Ford Shelby Mustang.
During an illicit race, an accident occurs, resulting in the death of Tobey’s friend Pete (played by Harrison Gilbertson). Dino frames Tobey for the accident, leading to Tobey being sentenced to prison. Upon his release, Tobey is determined to clear his name and seek revenge against Dino.
Tobey, along with his friends, including Julia (played by Imogen Poots), who is an exotic car dealer, plans to participate in the De Leon, a prestigious and secretive underground race with a massive cash prize. Along the way, Tobey must evade the law enforcement and rival racers who stand in his way.
