As the movie progresses, Jake learns about the existence of “Hollowgasts” or “Hollows,” monstrous creatures that hunt peculiar children to consume their eyes. The main antagonist, Barron (played by Samuel L. Jackson), is revealed to be a former peculiarity researcher who turned into a Hollow trying to attain immortality by consuming peculiar children’s eyes.
Towards the climax of the film, the peculiar children and Jake engage in a battle against the Hollows and Barron to protect their home and prevent the Hollows from taking over. During the fight, Miss Peregrine transforms into a peregrine falcon to avoid being captured by Barron.
In a climactic sequence, Jake and the peculiar children use their unique abilities to defeat the Hollows and ultimately confront Barron. The final showdown takes place at Blackpool Tower in a loop created by Miss Peregrine.
Jake discovers his own peculiarity, the ability to see and control the Hollows. He uses this power to command the Hollows to turn against Barron. In a dramatic turn of events, Barron is attacked and consumed by the very creatures he sought to control.
With Barron defeated, the threat to the peculiar children is eliminated, and they can continue living in their time loop in peace. Jake decides to return to his own time, bidding farewell to the peculiar children and Miss Peregrine. However, the movie leaves the possibility of future adventures open, hinting at the potential for sequels.
In the end, Jake is seen back in the present day, reuniting with his grandfather and deciding to share his experiences with the peculiar children with his therapist. The film concludes with a sense of closure but also leaves room for further exploration of the peculiar world in potential sequels.
