The film concludes with Teth-Adam/Black Adam deciding not to rule Kahndaq as a king, instead allowing the citizens to govern themselves. After defeating the demon Sabbac, Teth-Adam comes to realize that power corrupted him in the past and he does not wish to repeat that. He renounces his powers by saying “Shazam”, becoming mortal again. In a mid-credits scene, Amanda Waller meets with Superman, hinting at a future confrontation between the Man of Steel and the former ruthless anti-hero Black Adam. The ending suggests personal growth for Teth-Adam as he moves away from vengeance towards empathy, while still leaving the door open for more conflicts in the DC universe. Ultimately, he seems to embrace the ideals of the Justice Society heroes, finding a more noble purpose through his redemption.
