In the aftermath of Daniel’s fiery demise, Jo, Marcus, and Billie engage in a dangerous game of flashlight tag with their possessed friend. As they successfully weaken the supernatural entity within Daniel and disarm him, Billie, determined to protect her brother, repeats the curse, transporting herself to a mental space where Daniel attempts to seize control. In a harrowing struggle, Billie thwarts his possession by thrusting her thumb into his eyes, returning to reality unscathed. Unable to possess Billie, Daniel is forced into reality in his true form. Witnessing Daniel’s malevolence, Marcus intervenes, grappling with guilt over the innocents he unknowingly killed. When Daniel targets Billie again, Jo sacrifices herself to become the demon vessel. In the climactic showdown, Jo stabs Daniel with the cursed knife, reducing his body to a black, liquid patch. Although the immediate threat is vanquished, Marcus, burdened by the guilt of his involvement in the murders, surrenders to the police the next morning.
